Mackenzie Rutherford
Mackenzie Rutherford joined Evident Change in 2021 as a program specialist. In this role, she supports jurisdictions in improving outcomes for children and families through the SDM and TDM models. Prior to joining Evident Change, Mackenzie worked toward the goal of family preservation in child welfare at the local level. Her career has been rooted in prevention efforts that serve families prior to system involvement, keeping them together whenever safe to do so. Before working in direct child welfare services, Mackenzie worked with women and children in domestic violence shelters and was a law enforcement officer. Mackenzie received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science from the University of South Dakota, where she also played four years of collegiate soccer.
